With the takeover of the auto parts business of the Bielefeld Werthenbach Gruppe, the Cologne-based parts wholesaler Hess is expanding its business area north of the Ruhr area to Sachsen-Anhalt. The purchase encompasses a total of eight locations.

With the planned sale of its locations for the auto parts business to Hess Automotive, Werthenbach is pursuing a focus on its own core business of industrial technology, according to a press release. In addition to the auto parts business, the Bielefeld-based company is active in the areas of industrial technology, hydraulics and aerospace.
