Emil Frey France has signed the acquisition of independent distribution group Groupe Barrault and equipment manufacturer MGA Distribution.
Announced in June 2022, the takeover of the two companies by the leader in automotive distribution in France was formalized on October 3, 2022. This operation is part of the extension of the acquisition of Flauraud, in 2016, and responds to the wish to diversify the group.
Thanks to this operation, Emil Frey France passes, first of all, in its lap MGA, one of the main tricolor brands in the landscape of the independent aftermarket. Created in 1977, it has many product families (PSD, engine parts, filtration, clutch, etc.). Its turnover amounts to 35 million euros.
But Emil Frey France especially gets hold of one of the main independent distributors of parts since Barrault federates 55 stores and a logistics platform in Niort (79). The group has some 325 employees and has a turnover of around 55 million euros. The integration of the Barrault stores (essentially located in the west and south-east of the country) will thus enable the automobile distributor to consolidate its positions in the south of the country since Flauraud and its 17 stores are mainly located between Clermont-Ferrand ( 63) and Montpellier (34).
The manager also specifies that the two brands will be maintained: there is no question for the group of bringing together its two networks.
