Germany’s largest garage chain ATU wants to sell its auto glass business to Carglass, which specializes in this area. Both companies confirmed corresponding plans on Wednesday, but the antitrust approval is still pending.
The sale is part of a planned collaboration: Market leader Carglass is to offer glass repairs in the ATU branches. Both companies would focus on their core competencies, said an ATU spokesman.
According to the companies, there is no connection with the corona pandemic, which also affects the garage business. The sale was prepared before the crisis began, said the ATU spokesman.
