The early indicator for Europe’s independent aftermarket
Market shifts don’t happen overnight — they start in the workshop. The Aftermarket Barometer gives you a direct, quarterly read on how independent workshops across six European markets are performing and what they expect next, so you see change before it reaches the sales statistics.

Read the market where it actually moves
Independent workshops are the foundation of the entire aftermarket — every part sold and every service booked ultimately depends on them. But by the time their behaviour appears in shipment and sales data, the shift has already happened. The Aftermarket Barometer closes that gap.
Each quarter we ask independent workshops directly how business is developing: sentiment, sales, capacity, product demand and their expectations for the months ahead. The result is timely, reliable feedback on the health and direction of the Independent Aftermarket — giving manufacturers, suppliers and distributors an early, evidence-based view of where the market is heading, well before it becomes visible in traditional statistics.

How the Barometer is built
Direct interviews, not modelled estimates — a consistent panel that makes every reading comparable and trustworthy.
Every quarter we survey 100 independent workshops in each of six key European markets — Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom — a consistent panel of 600 interviews per quarter.
The same questions each period build a continuous time series back to 2021, with every KPI directly comparable to the previous quarter and to the same quarter a year earlier. Because the feedback comes straight from the workshop, it reflects real operating conditions rather than after-the-fact estimates.
