Automotive supplier, Assortment Optimizer and company brands in the European Aftermarket

The independent parts market in Europe is dominated by many companies, which are commonly referred to as suppliers and component manufacturers. Especially in the field of inspection and maintenance parts, there are many companies that produce products and sell them under its own brand or manufacture these spare parts for other companies. The range of products in the respective product categories is very different. While some component manufacturers manufacture more than 90% of the offered spare parts, there are other companies that produce only 20% of their own parts and buy 80% of other manufacturers.

In addition to these component manufacturers, there are so-called contract manufacturers and assortment optimizers. These companies don’t have their own production, but have specialized in marketing their own product lines for car parts that other manufacturers produce for them. They buy the necessary spare parts on the European market or worldwide and re-pack them.
