Shares increased from 25.1 to 84.9%

Subject to the approval of the antitrust authority, HUK-COBURG Mobilitätsholding GmbH, a subsidiary of HUK-COBURG, will take over the majority of the shares in the workshop chain pitstop.de GmbH, Mülheim a. d. R. from January 2, 2025. It is thus increasing its stake, which it has held since 2022, from 25.1% to 84.9%. Bridgestone Europe NV/AS remains a minority shareholder with 15.1%. Stefan Kulas, who previously held the majority in pitstop, has given up this stake but remains on the management board. Dr. Florian Riedel, previously responsible for investment and cooperation management at HUK-COBURG, is moving up to the management board. It has been agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

“With the majority shareholding, we are consistently taking the next step in positioning HUK-COBURG as a service provider for all aspects of mobility,” explains Klaus-Jürgen Heitmann, spokesman for the board of the HUK-COBURG insurance group. In view of future changes in private mobility, it is essential to remain relevant for customers. “With the now broader range of services relating to cars, we are directly at the customer interface, which goes beyond the insurance business. I wish Stefan Kulas and Dr. Florian Riedel every success in their new roles and tasks,” he concludes.
